Last summer, thanks to funding from the James and Robert Hardman Fund (Berkshire Taconic Foundation), a few small garden beds were added. This year, thanks to a Pay It Forward donation from Molly Polk and her family, the Greenagers able to set up a garden bed for Louison House.
Aretha of Greenagers and her mom visiting from Minnesota, arrived at the Flood House with all the necessary goods: boards, soil, drills, plants, and woman power. In no time at all a beautiful raised bed was in place and stocked with tomato, bell pepper, kale, lettuce, cucumber, butternut squash, and basil. They even found a sunny spot in our shady yard for the garden. Residents and staff will nurture the garden with care in anticipation of harvesting the fruits of their labor. Thank you to Molly, her family, and the Greenages for a gift that truly keeps on giving!
